The Executive Director is responsible for the overall direction and supervision of museum operations, staff, collections, events, exhibits, programs, and services provided on a day-to-day basis. The Executive Director is responsible for providing leadership and organizational vision for the continued growth and development of the Museum, its collections, and its personnel. The Executive Director should serve as an advocate and spokesperson to effectively represent the Museum of North Texas History and its possibilities to individuals as well as both public and private entities to generate enthusiasm and attract wide interest and support. The Executive Director works closely with the board of directors and has broad decision-making authority in the Museum's plans and programs. The Executive Director should seek out new initiatives and programs to move the museum forward and keep the board informed on such initiatives.
The Executive Director reports to the Board of Directors with the Board President being the primary spokesman of the Board. The Executive Director is an at-will employee.
Compensation: $48,000-$52,000, commensurate with experience.
Majority of the work to be done during Tuesday- Saturday, 8:00 AM-5:00 PM with some weekend and evening hours.
The Museum is open to the public Thursday-Saturday 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM
