Heart of Downtown Model Train Exhibit Special opening on November 26th

Wichita Falls, TX: The Museum of North Texas History is excited to announce the Heart of Downtown Model Train Exhibit has scheduled a special opening for Saturday, November 26, 2022. "Though the Museum will be closed the week of Thanksgiving, we wanted to give an early Christmas present to all the folks visiting in Wichita Falls during the Thanksgiving holiday" said Leanne Ray, museum curator. The display continues until the end of January 2023. “Ron Mauch spent so much time planning, designing, and installing this amazingly intricate model train and display. We hope visitors enjoy it as much as we are!” says Leanne Ray, Museum of North Texas History Curator. The Museum is open Thursday through Saturday, 10:00 am to 4:00 PM. The train shows will run at 11:00 AM, 1:00 PM, and 2:30 PM and last about 45 minutes.

We are excited to bring it back this year!

About the Museum of North Texas History:

The Museum was founded by a group of individuals who thought that the history of North Texas should be saved and exhibited so that the community could engage with it. In 2001, the Museum opened at 720 Indiana Avenue in downtown Wichita Falls. As the only general history museum in Wichita Falls, our organization fills a need in the community. We want the people of North Texas to visit the museum and see a story that resonates with them.

Our mission is to collect, preserve, exhibit, and interpret the history of the North Texas Area and to inspire an interest in the past for the education and enrichment of people of all ages.

We aim to provide a fun and entertaining experience in history for children and adults.
